My favourite and funniest pictures are caricatures. I was reading in famous caricaturist Tom Richmonds great book "The Mad Art of Caricature" that caricature is defined as "A portrait with the volume turned up." An apt way to describe it.
I exaggerate the size of the subjects head and interests of the individual - more of a fine art portrait with humour. I don't want to offend the more sensitive client and my way always looks like the subject. Notice the more recent pictures which are finished with a fine liner - this really does add contrast & depth to the final piece (my earlier, more opaque work is still pretty cool like!).
There is also a recent trend for people to use the caricatures I have done for them as their profile picture on "Facebook" & other social networking sites.
